mapping out the sky is a series of interplays and interludes inspired by several star constellations. Instead of exploring the more well known formations akin to Greek and Roman mythologies, I chose to look at those groups of stars that were designated as the tools of an artist (easel, compass, octans, chisel) and the artist’s atelier (Sculptor). The gestures and materials are derived from various aspects of the constellations, including number of stars per constellation, overall shape, and their general placement in the night sky. Though each of these star patterns have distinct qualities, they ultimately mesh together to create

the natural beauty that is our galaxy.
